Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage and Kinesiology Taping

  • The IASTM and Kinesio Taping course is perfect for all types of physical therapists, coaches, first-aiders and even athletes who want to achieve quick, simple, safe effective relief from muscular strains and ligament/joint sprains.

    • The latest neurophysiology of touch/manual therapy which will include an introduction to pain science.

    • We will teach you principles - not techniques. Once you understand the principles you can then apply the logic to any client/patient after the course

    • To understand the proposed mechanisms behind the effects of IASTM and Taping

    • To gain a knowledge of the IASTM and taping indications and contraindications.

    • To learn and practise handling skills for the different application styles.

  • Learners will produce 8 videos applying IASTM techniques to the upper body, lower body and nerve pathways

The video is intended to be used as an explanation guide for a patient and as such learners should talk to the camera as they complete their testing and treatment, explaining what they are doing and why they are doing it.

The video can be paused during recording but learners should not read word for word from a guide sheet – you have to clearly demonstrate that you know each IASTM technique, the handling and positioning and can comfortably carry out the application.

Learners should use the following structure as a guide:

    • Measure a joint range of motion or nerve tension

    • Apply your technique to the area that will influence that joint that

    • you have tested and talk/explain what you are doing to your client as if they were a ‘real-life’ patient.

    • Re-test the range of motion or nerve tension

Movement Therapy Education have been working with RockTape since 2016 and you will gain a RockDoc certificate after completing this course
